make the Texas State Historical Association of the future fully
worthy of all the people who have gone before. We would like to
make it worthy of you. Most of all, we would like to see it live
up to the promise of the generations now in the schoolrooms and
those generations unborn whose proper future should be carved
out of a profound and intelligent respect for the past that has
nurtured them.
