Gentlemen:
In accordance with instructions received, I have prepared the fol-
lowing statements from the records of the Texas State Historical As-
sociation:
Exhibit Title
I Comparative Statement of Assets and Liabilities (as of January 31,
1969, and January 31, 1970).
II Statement of Cash Receipts and Disbursements-General Fund (for
twelve months ending January 31, 1970).
III Statement of Cash Receipts and Disbursements-Publication Fund
(for twelve months ending January 31, 1970).
IV Statement of Changes in Equity Balance-Publication Fund (for
twelve months ending January 31, 1969, and January 31, 1970).
V Statement of Changes in Equity Balance-General Fund (for twelve
months ending January 31, 1969, and January 31, 1970).
VI Statements of Cash Receipts and Disbursements-Miscellaneous
Funds (for twelve months ending January 31, 1970).
VII Investments-Publication, Carroll, and Tullis Funds (as of Jan-
uary 31, 1970).
VIII Schedule of Dividends and Interest-General and Publication Funds
(for twelve months ending January 31, 1970).
IX Schedule of Sale of Stocks and Bonds (for twelve months ending
January 31, 1970).
These statements were prepared on a cash basis. However, as in
prior years, the statement of financial position includes receivables
and payables. The statements for the year ended January 31, 1969,
are presented for comparative purposes only.
My examination was made in accordance with generally accepted
auditing standards and accordingly included such tests of the account-
ing records and other auditing procedures as I considered necessary
in the circumstances, except as noted in the following paragraph.
Because of the nature of cash receipts, my examination of receipts
was limited to recorded cash receipts deposited in banks.
In my opinion, subject to the comment in the preceding paragraph,
the accompanying financial statements present fairly the assets and
