The History of Texas Business:
A Selected Bibliography
LARRY S. MILNER*
THE FOLLOWING IS THE SECOND HALF OF THE SELECTED BIBLIOGRAPHY
of works on Texas business. The first half was published in the Octo-
ber 1995 issue of the Southwestern Historical Quarterly, with an introduc-
tion explaining the methodology used in compiling the bibliography. As
mentioned in that introduction, the bibliography, organized topically,
includes a total of 855 citations.
TEXAS INDUSTRIES AND INSTITUTIONS (CONT.)
Very little has been written about the history of professional men and women in
Texas, even though they have played a major role in the state's development.
Perhaps not considered an industry per se, these small business people have
made a major impact. The few titles below are about the medical, legal, and ar-
chitectural professions. Engineers, accountants, and other Texas professions
have been overlooked.

erinary Medicine in Texas. College Station: Texas A&M University Press, 1991.
