TSHA LANTERN BOOKENDS
A USEFUL AND HANDSOME MEMENTO OF THE
TEXA STATE HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION'S CENTENNIAL
When the TSHA was founded ioo years ago at a
meeting in the capitol, the lights went out and the
meeting that established the Association was fin-
ished by the light of two lanterns. As a symbol of
the Association, the twin lanterns have special
meaning for us as we enter our second century.
These striking eight-inch bookends, cast in bronze
and mounted on a walnut base with skid-proof bot-
tom, will hold your most cherished books in style.
These lantern bookends symbolize the Association's
role in promoting the
research, study, and
publication of Texas
history for a century.
But they will also sym-
bolize your personal
dedication to the
TSHA, and your com-
mittment to the work
of our second century.
Your donation will
ensure that the
Southwestern Historical
Quarterly, the New
Handbook of Texas, our
publications program, The Junior Historians, Texas
History Day, our annual meeting, and all of our
other programs, will continue for another 1oo years.
The TSHA Lantern Bookends are $195 per set, plus
$16.09 tax and $ o.oo for handling and shipping,
for a total of $221.09 per set.
A ll funds received from the sale of these distinctive items go
toward the Centennial Endowment Drive. Allow six weeks for
delivery.
