The Howard Pavne f.ieulty and

fivc-da class week to a six-day
week reports Di Z T Huff ac-
ademic vice president.
In i poll h. conducted lecently
the faculty voted 40 to 4 for five
day- and the students voted 426
to 4 for the shorter class week.
Howard Payne has held classes
on a five-day week schedule this
year on an experimental basi-
although the college office still
are open Saturday mornings in
addition to the five days Mon-
day through Friday.
A number of yeais ago clashes
weie conducted on a five-day
week and a term organization.
The schedule was changed to six-
days a week when the college-
went on the semester plan to
comply with suggested policy of
the state department of educa-
tion. In the poll Dr. Huff said most
of the students and faculty mem-
bers indicated that the attention
span amount of work covered
and grades for the hour and a
half classes on Tuesday and
Thursday were about the same
as for the hour classes on Mon-
day Wednesday and Friday.

close its .spring season with a
conceit at linra. Monday in Mims
Auditorium.
The conceit will follow the
tiaditional Chime-Out program
scheduled at G 30 p.m. in Mims.

Minor populaily known as the
"Unfinished Symphony."
The number was wi lttcn by
Schubert to honor the town of
Gra wheie he lived many years
and i eceived much recognition foi
his work. According to legend it
never was completed because
Schubert could never compose a
finish that he felt measured up
to the first two movements.
He put the first two movement1
away so that they could not be
following the concert the audi-
ence will be invited to attend an
infoimal leception for the choir
in the student center.
Entertainment at the leception
will be presented by Dan McBride
and John Milnor guitarists and
