fifteen-hundred fans

The Yellow Jacket
Staff would like to convey
our deepest sympathy to
every member of the A
Cappella Choir. They
missed an awesome week-
end of rocking music and
blu botol water.
The second annual
HPU-Palooza was a huge
success. A total of fifteen-
hundred people congregated
in Old Main Park through-
out the day on Saturday.
Which was better.... Listen-
ng to a dozen different
bands or watching Jim
Looby smoke a cigar? Your
call.
The event started off
Friday night with Puller
Free Association and
supraphonic. Iota Chi Al-
pha brought in the bands and
the Student Union Board sup-
plied the sound equipment.
supraphonic opened the
night playing all new songs
that were almost like Alanis
Morrisette singing for White
Zombie. After Free Associa-
tion Puller (a hard-core
band from Oklahoma City)
appeared.
Bright and early Satur-
day morning IXA began their
third annual Volleyball tour-
nament. The Tournament
sparked off the events for
'Palooza. IXA supplied mu-
sic and cokes for all. As well
they booted the combined
prize money of $700 hundred

Go jackets let's go
blue! Hey let's hear it for
HPU! Yeah! This cheer was
heard for the third year
straight April 3. Your HPU
Cheerleaders were among
the top schools in the nation
to compete for the coveted
number one checrleading
squad in the nation. All four
corners of the U.S. were rep-
resented from California to
Maine Costa Rica to Wash-
ington. Over 145 squads and
over 2500 cheerleaders were
present in Daytona to com-
pete. HPU made a good
standing among their division
II peers. Ranking approxi-
mately 15th out of 28
schools the Yellow Jackets
came out strong and stuck the
first part of their routine.
Somewhere in the middle
things got sticky and tum-
bling passes and some stunts
did not go well for the squad.
Never-the-less the squad
pulled it together as a team
and finished with a strong
