Kappa Delta Pi President
Attends Boston Convention
Kathy Mooro president of the
campus chapter of Kappa Delta
Pi left this morning for the na-
tional education fraternity's con-
vention this week in Boston
The 27 biennial convocation
head - quartered in the Statlcr-
Ililton will continue through Sun-
day On the agenda of the meet are
election of national officeis m-
writing the fraternity constitu-
tion and committee discussions on
current education topics
A major event will be eight
Student Forums The discussions
are being organized and directed
by students as a series of rational
tonfrontations These Kadclpians
believe that confrontations when
kept on an intellectual level are
wholesome and will lead to rea-
soned and intelligent social
change Thus the eight Student
Forums will be conducted around
the theme "Versus "
The eight topics are
Teachers Versus Learners
Black Versus White
Teacher Versus Public
Freedom of Inquiry Versus In-
doctrination Theory Versus Practice
Innovation Versus Application
Evolutionary Change Versus
Revolutionary Change
Academic Freedom and Acade-
mic Abuse
Faculty and Administration vs.
Students

Presentation Committees
Spring Presentation has been Delta Phi is responsible for pic-
schedulcd for Saturday March 7
by the Women's Interclub Coun-
cil
The annual affair is sponsored
each year for formal introduction
of all new women's social club as-
sociates and pledges Following
the Radford presentation will be
a parents' reception in the Social
Hall and a dance in the gym The
program and decorations will cen-
ter around a theme of "Age of
Aquarius "
Activities begin at 7 30 p m
in Radford Auditorium for honor-
ees and their escorts Parents of
both honored women and dates
will be special guests at the fol-
lowing reception
The dance will also be sponsor-
ed by interclub for women social
club members and pledges and
their dates
Color pictures will be taken at
the dance by Worthy Long Studio
Preparations for the events are
being conducted through Interclub
committees Alpha Psi Alpha is in
charge of the parents' reception
Designing and constructing stage
decorations will be Delta Beta
Epsilon Gamma Sigma is plann-
ing refreshments for the dance
The theme and program commit-
tee is headed by Kappa Phi Pi
The delegates alternates and
the observers will be confronted
with many innovations at this
Convocation starting with the
Reception to be held in the East
and West Ballrooms of the Statler
Hilton from 8 00 - 11 00 pm on
Wednesday The Convocation
Planning Committee has arrang-
ed a Little Boston Pops Concert
complete with elements of the
Northeastern University Concert
Band food and drink a la Pops
Concert style
Miss Moore from Albany is

For January Term

term and its curriculum are being
prepared for distribution by the

suggestions for faculty considera-

Spring Willson Lectures
Scheduled March 10-12
The spring Willson Lecture ser-
ies March 10-12 at McMurry will
feature two speakers Dr. E Good-
rich pastor of the First Methodist
Church of Dallas and Dr. Robert
V Nauman chemistry professor
at Louisiana State University
who will preside over the lectures
The occasion of the Willson Lec-
tures will also serve as host to
the McMurry Board of Trustees
deliberations a traditional func-
tion during lecture time Agenda
for the board will include selec-
tion of a new president to succeed
Dr Gordon Bennett who has an-
nounced his retirement from the
presidency as of June 1
Dr Robert E Goodrich son of
a distinguished minister was born
majoring in English and minor-
ing in history She is presently
serving at interclub representa-
tive of Theta Chi Lambda presi-
dent of Kappa Delta Pi secretary
of Wah Wahtaysce and president
of Women's Interclub Council
She is also a member of SEA and
has served as House Clerk and
secretary of the Student Associa-
tion Government and as a mem-
ber of the Martin Dorm Council
and is a member of Who s Who in
American Colleges and Universities

with the Christmas vacation break
and the second semester would

addition to the Willson lecture
will give a special talk for stu-
dent chemists and faculty while
on the McMurry campus
The spring Willson Lectures
arc scheduled as morning events
with Dr Goodrich to speak at
9 30 a m Tuesday and 9 00 am
Wednesday and Dr. Nauman to
speak at 9 00 a m Thursday.

Tuesday evening for service rendered to McMurry and to the
realm of education Dr Bennett was featured speaker at the

Spring Fashions Monday
Wah Wahtaysee women's serv-
ice organization will host its an-
nual spring style show in Radford
Social Hall at 7 30 p m Monday
The evening show will include
the in fashions for both women
and men students Furnishing
clothes for the event are Gnsby's
and Bud's Duds Connie Cockrcll
will serve as narrator
Also scheduled for the evening
are campus entertainment and re-
freshments Over-all chairman for the fash-
ion show is Sandra Fritz Pam

models and fashions and enter-
tainment Heading the refreshment com-

Linguistics Lectures
Begin Thursday at 4:15
Because the growing influence
of linguistic science is affecting
all levels of the academic curri-
culum the McMurry English de-
partment has arranged for Mr
George F. Carter of ACC to direct
a series of seminars on linguis-
tics learning teaching and com-
munication They will be of interest to our
administration faculty prospec-
tive teachers and English majors
and minors according to Randal

also compete in Oration In the
individual speaking will be Vickie
Babington in Original Oration and
Mary Smith in Oral Interpreta-
tion Mrs Burress the debate
sponsor will also accompany the

Following this debate the four
students will present a debate on
"Resolve That China Should be
Admitted to the United Nations"
on March 3 1970 at St Pauls
