BY VICK MAI.nONAnn
If you have been keeping up wiih
events on campus then you probably
already know next year's MSG presi-
dent is none other than that good-all-around
guy Greg Bruce.
Bruce is a twenty-year-old Abilene
native who graduated from Abilene
High in 1985. He is the only son of
Bob and Helen Bruce of Abilene.
Bruce is an active member of the First
Baptist Church. He is also vice presi-
dent of Makona social club for the
1988-89 session. He is a political sci-
ence major.
Bruce is enthusiastic about next
year's MSG citing the recent rise in
student involvement. Bruce said
"We want to sec a lot more student
involvement at the meetings and with
the activities. With the recent move of
the meeting site attendance has in-
creased at the meetings on Monday
afternoon."

activity committee composed of
about nine to ten people. The commit-
tee will work together with Evelyn
Lane Director of the Campus Center
in thinking up new and different ac-
tivities on campus. Plans call for
about half of the committee members
to be composed of people not in-
volved with MSG.
Bruce and next year's vice presi-
dent Linda Picl will be reviving the
MSG Messenger in the War Whoop.
When asked about the letters to the
editor in the April 8 1988 issue of the
War Whoop Bruce said "I agree with
both letters to a certain degree but I
also disagree with a lot of it. I feel that
MSG has not been very rcprcscnta-
tivcof students this year butl feel that
it is because of the poor student in-
volvement I think the letters arc great
because they have increased student
involvement and awareness."
Bruce said it was a great honor to be
elected and he hopes to do a good job.
"With student involvement we
should have a great year!" he said.

on the squad. Next season should
prove to a very strong one since wc
have three males on the squad.
Kyle Paul and Shawn said that
they hoped that by being a yell leader
that they could improve the school
spirit and reduce some of the apathy
that the students seem to have when it
comes to supporting McMurry ath-
letic teams.
Kyle and Shawn said their main
reason for trying out was because of
Paul. They also wanted to improve the
quality of cheerleaders at McMurry.
