Jesse Hensley Gough, b. 1808 Ohio, around Cincinnati d. after
1880 in TX, probably Ellis Co., married Nov 18, 1830 Greene Co.,
IL, Sarah Tompkins b. June 9, 1812 Hardin Co., KY d. Oct 11,
1871 Collin Co. TX. buried in Rowlett Creek Cem. They moved to
Rowlett Creek, Collin Co. TX, in 1844. They helped start Rowlett
Creek Baptist Church and Liberty Baptist Church, which is still
in operation. They sent four sons to the Civil War, three of
whom died.

May 18, 1864 at Yellow Bayou, LA; married Feb 10, 1857 in
Dallas, TX, to Elizabeth Rowland b. 1830 TN d. 1904 Collin

c. James Rowland Gough b. Dec 31, 1860 Collin Co. TX d. Nov
19, 1916 McKinney, TX. He was Texas State Representative
for Collin Co. from 1890-96 in the House and 1896-1900 in
the Senate, where he was elected President Pro-Tempore.
He ran for Lt. Governor in 1901 and lost. The Gough
house on Louisiana Street in McKinney was his.
c. William Mason Gough b. May 22, 1840 in Greene Co. IL d. Oct
21, 1895 in Sherman, TX. He served in Company I of the
Ninth Regiment of Texas Infantry in the Civil War. He
graduated from Waco University on June 23, 1870. He was a
Baptist Minister who helped start several Baptist churches,
including First Baptist Church of Fort Worth. He married
Frances "Fannie" Agnes Faulkner on Oct 3, 1872 in Calvert,
TX. She was born Nov 16, 1855 in Calvert, TX, and died Apr
25, 1937, in Sherman, TX. They moved to Sherman, TX, in
1880.
c. Jesse Nash Gough b. May 31, 1886 in Sherman, TX. d. Oct
2, 1972 in McAlester, OK. He was ticket agent for the
MKT/Rock Island Railroads in McAlester. He married
Bessie Malone on September 25, 1911 in Collinsville, TX.
She was born on Sept 9, 1891 in Collinsville, TX, and
died Dec 26, 1969 in McAlester, OK.
c. John "Jack" William Gough b. June 28, 1912 in
McAlester, OK. He married on July 12, 1935 Mary Agnes
Horn in Eufaula, OK. She was born April 21, 1911 in
Pushmataha, AL. They live in Tulsa, OK.
c. John "David" Gough b. March 19, 1942 in Durant, OK.
He is single.
c. Richard "Bruce" Gough b. Dec 2, 1943 in Tulsa, OK.
He married Lois "Joy" Farr on Jan 31, 1969 at Lowry

original homestead which bordered on Rowlett
Creek Cemetery.
