human race; and if you succeed in preventing new slavery states-
and, above all, if you succeed in establishing, in a genial climate,
a colony or state where free men of colour will be on a perfect
equality with the white people-you will have formed a basis on
which can be constructed the entire emancipation, all over the
world, of the hitherto neglected and oppressed black population.
