* The management of Rock Island Lines is confident that its
vast program of improvement and modernization has prepared
it for any emergency. Its fleet of Diesel-powered, streamlined
Rockets and its network of fast freight trains offer real satis-
faction to patrons of 14 Midwestern States.
PASSENGER SERVICE-For Texas patrons, fast daily service
is provided by the Rockets between Dallas-Fort Worth and
Oklahoma City-Wichita-Kansas City. Direct connections for
Chicago (next morning arrival), Des Moines, St. Paul-Minne-
apolis, Omaha and the Pacific Northwest... Other fast service
daily with excellent overnight sleeper service Dallas-Fort Worth
to Oklahoma City... Convenient connections at El Reno to and
from Memphis, Little Rock and Amarillo.
FREIGHT SERVICE-Fast through service is assured by the
operation of many scheduled trains carrying carload and less-
than-carload shipments to principal points along Rock Island
Lines, as well as to other destinations beyond its rails. Free
Pick-up and Delivery of less-than-carload freight. Merchandise
cars between all important points.Fastest service between Fort Worth-Dallas-
Houston on the streamlined, Diesel-powered
TEXAS ROCKET and SAM HOUSTON
ZEPHYR.
