Texas Cotton Ginnings, by Counties, 1940 and 1939.
Table below from the U S Bureau of the Census shows ginnings in Texas counties for the
crops of 1940 and 1939, including ginnings for these respective seasons after Jan. 1. Quantities
are in running bales, counting round bales as half bales. Linters are not included. These
figures may be accepted as cotton production by counties, though in some instances cotton
gro n in one county is ginned in another. Counties omitted from this list either had no
cotton production, or else ginnings were small and included in "All other" at end of the table
