of answers thereto, covering period from early
1870s to 1925. all indexed. (William Sidney Porter
(later O. Henry) worked for firm of John Wilson
and Francis Marion Maddox three years. "Big
Foot" Wallace, John Dural among clients.) Ranch-
es, railroads. Texas-Oklahoma boundary suit and
so forth, records. Collection now owned by Miss
Ada M. Maddox, Austin.
Ellsabet Ney Museum.-At Forty-fourth Street
and Avenue H. Sculpture executed in both Texas
and Europe and articles connected with the life
of the sculptress in Texas and Germany. Mrs.

Collection of Dr. Goodall H. Wooten.-In Texas
Memorial Museum Given in his memory by Mrs.
Wooten. Firearms: antique pistols from fuse lock

and African arms; one of finest private collec-
tions in the state.
J. Frank Dobie Collection.-Horn art; artifacts,
books and pamphlets pertaining to cattle, cow-
boys. range and border country, range horses.

Frank Caldwell Collectlon.-Books, pamphlets,
documents, broadsides; especially good collection
of county histories. This Is one of the outstanding
private collections of Texas.
BAIRD
Callahan County Pioneer Museum.-Wednesday
Club: Old newspapers, Bibles, textbooks; brand-
ing irons; pistols ; rifles : household utensils : fur-
niture: tools; saddles: saddlebags: special collec-
tion of early-day Texas Ranger: many other ar-
ticles of early county settlers. Mrs. L. L. Black-

Frontier Times Museum.-Owned by J. harvn
Hunter: Relics of frontier, curios, natural his-
tory, old photographs, guns, knives, coins, books,
manuscripts, mounted wild animals and birds:
geological and archaeological specimens; branding
irons; 400 bells. etc. One of largest private col-
lections in Texas; housed in museum building con-
taining more than 15,000 items.

Davis. consists of approximately 15,000 Indian
artifacts, including arrowheads, ceremonial stones
such as boat stones, net sinkers, etc.; knives. All
of collection found in Milam County. Also has col-
lection of New Mexico Indian artifacts, mostly
pottery.

campus )f West Texas State College; consists of
regional historical material; prehistory consisting
of archaeological, paleontological and geo-botany.

gional items, relating largely to early Scandi-
navian settlements; pioneer history.

sorts of specimens bearing on early Texas history.

Museum of the East Texas State Teachers Col-
lege.-Indian artifacts, principally from North-
east Texas: pioneer household, field and indus-
trial equipment; firearms; relics of Civil War,

and gem stones: Texas marine shells: North
American bird eggs: butterflies; watercolor por-
traits of Texas wildflowers; vertebrate and in-
vertebrate fossils. The museum also possesses a
large research collection of Texas ornithology.
