mately 900 mi., and the drainage aiea in
Texas is 20,700 sq. mi. The Elephant
Butte project is situated in New Mexico
and irrigates a large area in that State
and in Texas at El Paso; there is much
irrigation from the flow of the stream at
other points especially on the delta.
