CHRISTIAN CHURCH
BEING IMPROVED
The people of the first Christ?
ian charch are having their
church building overhauled, put-
ting on a new roof and adding a
large gallery on the East end,
also papering and painting it
throughout and when completed
they will have an extra nice
little building.
DOItDS ARE BEIN6
WELL CARED FOR
Stonewall county roads are in
wery good condition and they are
%eing cared for. The writer had
the pleasure of attending a Li-
tfum number at Peacock Mon-
day evening throught the cour-
tesy of Mr. Trammell, who in-
vited us to go with him in his
car. It being one day since the
country had a nice liitle rain and
the roads had been drug with
split logs all the way from Asp-
crmot t to Peacock, this leveling
them down and putting them in
the very best of condition possi-
ble unless they were re-graded
and there are some places that
meed grading bad, but we want
to compliment the people out
that way in taking enough in-
terest in their roads to drag
them after every rain, and it
should lie done on every road
leading out from Aspermont.
When in need of a eating or
an inner tube for your car. < Sib-

GOES TO BENJAMIN
Mr. J. H. Hollingworth and
family departed this week for
Benjamin where Mr. Ho! lings-
worth has accepted the position
of Superintendent of the schools
at that place. We regret very
much to loose this good family,
in doing so we lose one of the
ibest school men that has ever
been in our county, and can
heartily recommend him to the
peop'e of Benjamin, although
we learn that he needs no re-
commendation to those people as
they have known him for sever-
sak years. Mr. HolHngsworth tells
fas that he not only has a larger
..school and a better building but
he gets a considerable raise in
^salary to what he received here,
and that the school was in extra
•£ood condition financially. While
•we have no doubt that Mr. H«>1-
'lingsworth will come up to their
requirements in ever respect and
we trust that the work will be
pleasant for . him, and we con-
sider our loss Benjamin's gain.

two of our very best young men.
and men who held Rood posit-

officers and we do not doubt for
one moment but they will receive
a good commission a* they are
able in every respect, and young
men of no bad habits. These men
arc Ross Webb and Carl Spring-
er who departed Tuesday of this
week.
Uoss Webb is our county Sup-
erintendent anil Carl Springe is
a young lawyer that has a very
bright future.
Frank Hiankenbecker, Zenie

MAN ABOUT TOWN.
Lets grub all the mesquiteaoff
the main part of town, we can
grub all the mesquites off four
blocks, running from Chas. Gib-
sons to the depot with the coat
only running from $26.IK) to$3().
00. Notice how nice and clean
those blocks that have been
grubbed off look. There is no
place to catch the old Papers and
rolling weeds if the mesqutes are
cleaned off it is no trouble to
keep the weed* mowed down if
it rains and the y grow too rank.
Clean up the block next to you
it makes no difference who it be-
longs to it is worth the money
to you to have it clean. It might
save you a Doctor bill you ca
not tell when your children are
going to get snake bit in some
of their weed growing blocks or
ho many typhoid germs ar«
collecting i some of this decay-
ing filth. Lets clean up it don't
make any difference wheather
you are on a front street or back

better by having it clean.
