The Solemn Old Judge says ho
would like to return to the early
American days when the Indians
had charge There were no taxes,
no debts and the women did all of
the work
If this issue of the Star ever
breaches the subscribers it be a mas-
terpiece of clogged determination
Ipnd endurance -- every thing that
ever went wrong in a newspaper
office in a period of years has hap-
pened in three days in the Star
office tiiis week
First a 'cogged gear wheel on our
'.newspaper press went to pieces on
Tuesday and it was carried
to a machine shop in a near by
town and finally we got it back to-
• gether late Thursday afternoon —
And it lasted just three revolutions
of the press when it came apart
Again and also broke another part,
which finished the press up be-
cause it was already in bad shape.
We have; been giving the good
■neighbor policy a strong test this
week . and by the help of
Jllarolc! Kcnady. Darwin Frazier. the
Jayton Chronicle and the Rule
Review and a few other benevolent
souls iii addition to day and night
work by members of the Star staff
•we hope to get the papers in the j
mail Saturday morning (
A bigger and better and fast-1
,er press is now on order and we
hope to have it installed and ready
to print the papers for next weeks

So all persons approaching this

Those coming in on the highway
in either direction are required bv
