•Western Days, held Thurs-
and Friday, is an annual
event at Howard Payne, and
lor two days eadh year, the
student bOdy and faculty
members attempt to turn the
clock back to nineteenth cen-
tury days. In keeping with the
Spirit, students- are required
to wd&r appropriate attire and
several western-type events
are scheduled, Western Days
chairman, - Marion Cole, has

April 4.
"Happy Daze" is an even-
ing of choice entertainment
featuring Cynthia Clawson,
Howard Payne senior who has
recently appeared several
times on national television.
Presented and directed by
Mitch Wilson for the sponsor-
ing senior class, the show will
also headline HP's Heritage
Singers, Rene Monette, Alan
Sxri|u^tinda
Stohler, Cindy Hughes and
Jacque Jordan who will join
Cynthia in the evening's en-
tertainment.
"Happy Daze" will be pre-
sented at Brownwood High
School's Auditorium at 8
p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $1
for students, $1.50 adults, and
proceeds will go to the sen-
ior class to 'be used for the
traditional Senior Gift which
each class leaves the college.

Election Returns Tallied
Election results for class of-
ficers held Friday, March 20,
have been announced by
Srnie Storms, election head.
** Elected in the upcoming
senior class were Darrell
Miles, president; Connie Man-
ning, vice president; Linda
Bliss, secretary; Leta Meek,
treasurer; and Danny Rankin
and Cecilia Owens, senators.
Officers elected for the jun-
ior class were still largely un-
decided ;at press time, due to
pending run-off elections to
be held at a later date. Mor-
ris Pickler and David Beck-
worth are still in the running
for president; Ky "Evans was
elected vice president; Nona
Tullos, secretary; Randy Gip-
son, treasurer; and Sam
Broughton, senator. The sec-
ond senate seat remains open
and will be decided by a run-
off between Helen Wilson and
Ken Farenick..
Sophomore class officers are
Roland Johnson, president;
Vic Darrough, vice president;
Cathy Crownover, secretary;
Janice Latham, treasurer; and
Mike Levens and Cathy Bris-
