Crusade committee set the 1978

American Cancer Society at
$6,850. at a planning session
[Thursday. March 2.
Dona Donaldson. Cancer
Crusade Chairman, led the
I planning session where goals
were set and publicity and
other plans were made. Goals
for each category were set as
follows: Memorials, $500;
[Residential and Rural, $2200;
Special Gifts. $600; Business,
I $750; and Special Events.
$2,800.
Attending the meeting were
[)on Schaef, Memorials Chair-
•man; Polly Farrar, Residential
Crusade Co Chairman; Hobart
McMordie, Special Gifts Chair
man; Bill Bohannon. Publicity;
and Donna Brauchi, Public
Information chairman.
Other Crusade leaders are:
Polly Tubb, Co-Chairman resi-
dential crusade; Sandie Cook,
rural chairman; Charles More
head, special events chairman;
and Dona Donaldson, business
chairman.
The special gifts crusade has
already begun. The business
and rural crusades will be done
the last two weeks of March.
April 4 has been set as Crusade
day in Canadian.
Terry Pittman resigns
as hospital chief
Terry Pittmqan. who has
[been Administrator of Hemp-
hill County Hospital since
[October 1976, has resigned his
[post effective April 1.
Pittman submitted his re-
signation to the Hospital Board
(last week, effective at the end
of March, but told the Board
I that he would stay on longer if
needed, until a successor has
[been found.

i business w hich 1 can eventually
town.' Pittman said this week,
and I haven't any definite
[plans, 1 have had an ambition,
for a long time, to someday own
• my own business, and we've
finally decided that we'll make
the break and try to do it."
Pittman praised the hospital
board, doctors and staff, and
I said everyone has been most
|cooperative'. "1 hate to leave,"
he said, "and we hope to stay in
the area."
He and wife, I)onna, and two
rhildn-n moved to Canadian
from ('anyon where he had
been business manager of Palo
!>uro hospital. He is a native of
spearman, and had been
[assistant city manager and city
[secretary at Spearman before
moving to Canyon.

Membert of the singing Rider Family from Louisiana will be featured at Sunday
morning worship services at the First Christian Church, and as music evangelists
during a revival which will open Wednesday. March 15. In the group are Richard and
Janelle Rider, teen-age daughters Darlene and Dale, and son Danny.
Special music to feature Sunday
service at First Christian Church
Special music will be
featured Sunday at the First
Christian Church in observance
of Church Renewal Sunday,
according to the pastor Howard
Guidry.
The Rider Family, from
i/ouisiana, will sing at the
morning worship service, as
will the church choir. And
Sunday evening the worship
service will consist largely of a
Gospel Music Concert by both
members of the church and the
Rider Family.
The Rider Family will also be
featured music evangelists
during a Revival at the First
Christian Church which will
begin Wednesday, March 15.
Services will be held each
evening at 7:30, however, the
Rider Family will conduct a
pre service concert of Gospel
Music each evening at 7:15.
Howard Guidry. minister,
will be preaching each night.
He emphasizes that everyone is
welcome and that a nursery will
be provided.
The Rider family includes the
father. Richard, his wife.
Janelle. their two teenage
daughters. Darlene and Dale,
and their son. Danny. Richard
attended Minnesota Bible
College and Ozark Bible College
and has been in music
evangelism for four years.
The family members play a
variety of musical instruments
and also use tapes for
background music. They are
famous for singing for rallies,
concerts, and conventions, and
are nationally known. Their
music is available on tapes and
albums. Richard has sung and
preached in a number of
overseas crusades.
Rider is a licensed pilot and
was a cropduster before going
into music evangelism.
