School Board
I,
From left to right: Mr. N. B. Haskell, Mrs. R. L. Murray, Mr. Edwin Baldwin, Dr. Clyde Gott, Mr. Kenneth Murphy, president; Mr. George
Huber, vice-president: Mr. Milton G. Getz, Mr. Alfred Z. McElroy, and Mr. A. T. Patterson, secretary.
The smooth operation of the Port Arthur Independent School District is the result of the diligent efforts on
the part of our capable administration. The administrative board possesses the quality of being a group of re-
spected citizens of the community which is willing to handle the task of running the educational structure of the
city.
The board is composed of seven elected members along with the superintendent and the executive secretary.
This group is charged with the task of providing a system of schools and establishing general policies for the
operation in keeping with the requirements of the community and the state laws.
We salute the members of the Board of Education for their exceptional progress and unceasing efforts to
improve the building facilities in the Port Arthur Independent School District. Their efforts to improve have
been successful in that there is a more conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.- -
