The Tale of a Hershey
Very few of of you readers can guess perchance
How a plain nut bar can aid romance.
Yet list to me and a tale I'll relate
Of how chocolate candy plays aid to Fate.
They were taking a quizz in a certain class,
He had turned in his paper, quite sure of a pass.
He went to the desk to get his book
But he picked up TWO with a casual look.
The teacher watched him and I watched her,
Both knowing that something would soon occur.
He seemed to forget that we others were there
As he slipped something in with an innocent air.
The teacher walked quietly down the aisle
And looked at the workers with quizzical smile.
She picked up that book with the silent intent
Of learning just what that boy had meant
He saw her and said with a guilty face,
"Here, take this book, I have found the place."
The teacher smiled sweetly and with, "No thank you, ... ."
Page after page she slowly turned on.
He settled back, not daring to look,
And she quickly examined the thing in the book.
When she found not a note but some candy sweet
She laughed, laid it down, and went back to her seat.
I looked but no one save me of that class
Had observed that these things had just come to pass,
And I thought to myself, "What would she say?
If she knew that happened at least once a day?"
The name of the girl and the generous boy
I'll keep to myself and the joke I'll enjoy.
It's enough that they're members of the Junior (lass.
Now who was the lad and who was the lass?A NON.
