Assistant Editor
Congratulations to J. Louis!
Evans, college "store manager, on
being elected mayor of Stephen-
ville, Managing that "non-profit"
organization seems to lead to big-
ger things.
; It seems that a odd way for
the non-profit organization to
make profit, (a naive thought),
would bcj the sale of do-it-yourself
kits. ■
There could be a kit with com-
plete instructions on bdw to stuck
und-or flood, a room. Maybe some
of the boys from ■Bender could sug-!
ft-est those little . extra touches!
which mark a professional job. I
Students who never receive mail j
might like a kit containing a box
of stationery, book of stamps,
fountain pen, and Marilyn Mon-
roe's private address. For girls
this kit might include a list of
the "T" association membership,
For anatomy, biology, and
phlsiology students the kit might
contain a complete skelton ready
to assemble. Probably for only a
small additional fee, dehydrated
jats could be included.
"This Is Tarleton," the bulletin
published for high school senior j-
students is attracting quite a bit j
of attention. Mrs, Baird's Bread j
Company has requested permission j
to reprint one of the photographs j
in their company magazine. T'hti
pic contains Pat Morrison;- senior
from Gorman; Mrs. Wildah Mitch-
ell, girl's dormitory matron; and
a loaf of Mrs. Baird's Bread. A
picnic picture also shows bread
from another company. I
The '56 Aggieland (A&M an- j
nual) also requests a picture of >l i
main building, the entrance to the I
campus, or some other familiar j
view of interest. For the Agglie-
land there is a pic of David Clin- j
yus of Stephenville, Jo Ann Bailey
of Dublin, Pearl Crockett of Dub-j
liir and Bill Dillahunty of Uvalde-,
standing in front of the gate.!
(What could be of more interest
to Aggies than pretty co-eds.) j
Have you heard this one? (If so |
skip tliis pararaph.) j
Young man: "I can't understand;
it. You seem so contented. I
thought spinisters were always
cross and grouchy.''
Old maid: ."Well I have a fire-
place that smokes, a dog that
harks, a parrot that swears, and
a cat the-1 stays out all night.
Why do I need a man? (Who does
the dishes) ?
Then there is the one about the
woman who wrote to a daily news
paper from a very lonely 'spot as |
follows; "My sister and I aren't ,
exactly lonely out here. We have j
each other to talk to. But >ve need j
another woman to talk about."
Ask what the seniors would lik
fov graduation and they seem i
amazed. !
Barbara Kasberrv from Dublin:
Says, "My gosh, 1 hadn't even
thought about it. Just to gradu-i
ate, i guess."
Shirley Godfrey of Comanche,
"I i want, "no ■ more berries -in my
bed, Easter , eggs in my clothes,
or old buttons and used straws for
birthday ' presents." (This doesn't
seem to have ■ anything with
graduation, maybe Shirley is los-
ing her sense of humor.)
Don Jones of Garland wants "a
girl about 18 or ID." (As a gradu-
ation present?)
Then the freshmen are making
plans for becoming' seniors. Tom-
my Barton of Monahans is plan-
continued on -Page -8)
