said. Sharon is a freshmen. Ele-

Alos last week Frankie Burk-
hart, president,'announced that the
chapter officers will install Green-
hands into the Dublin High School
FFA Chapter Nov. 10. During the
meeting Doyle Graves, will show
films from his trip to Ceylon last
Fall. The Dublin Chapter expected
"to return the program in the fu-
ture.

time the N.E.A. Centennial Film,
"A Desk for Billie," will be shown.

unpromising circumstances. •
All students who plan to enter
the teaching field are urged to
attend this meeting.
Seniors Meet Today
Senior Class President James
Rivers announced last week that
the senior class will hold a meeting
in the small auditorium in the
conservatory today at 12:30 p.m.
"I want to urge all class mem1
bers to attend,'' Rivers said, due
to the serious nature of the busi-
ness which will be discussed dur-
ing the meeting, and the num-
ber of people who will affected.

What is expected to be one of
the largest, and most elaborate
Homecoming parades ever to roll
along* the Stephenville strfets will
get. underway Saturday, Oct. 31
at 10:00 a.m.
The parade will begin a day-
long series of homecoming activi-
ties that will include a pre-foot?
ball game program, the Tarleton
State-San Angelo game, a meet-
ing of all ex-students after the
game, and end with a Homecom-
ing Dance in the college dining
hall at 7:30 Saturday night.
Fifteen floats are expected in
the parade according to Parade
Marshal Lt. Col. L, W. Sherrod,
PMS & T at Tarleton State.
Colonel Sherrod said that rolling
units will gather at Memorial
Stadium at 9:00 a.m. while the
marching units will form at Race
and Tarleton streets.
Sponsoring float entries in the
■parade will be the Rodeo Club,
Barons and Coronas, Student
Council, FFA, Freshman Class,
Senior Class, Lords and Common-
ers, Aggettes, Los Caballeros and
DST, and Campus Club. Other
floats are to be sponsored by these
organizations: ROTC, Rotary
Club, Lions Club, Baptists, and
Stephenville High School.
A committee composed of Mr.
Bob Herrin, Mrs. Nina King, and
Mr. Ralph Jones will select first,
second, and third place winners
from those floats entered by stu-f
dent organizations, Winners will
receive $20, $15, and $10 respec-
tively.

Bands to March in
Parade Announced
Nine marching units, including
eight bands and one precision
matching team from Stephenville
and the surrounding communities
have indicated they will march and
play in the Homecoming parade
Saturday. They are: Granbury
High School Band, directed by
Harold Parnell; De Leon High
School Band, directed by Greg, A.
Berry; Hamilton High School
Band, directed by Donald Russell.
Others are- Dublin High School
Band, under the direction, of Clif-
ford Ofill; Comanche High School
Band, under the direction of J. L.
King; Stephenville High School
Band, directed by T. R. Atwood,
Stephenville Junior High School
Band, also directed by T. R. At-
wood; the- Stephenville High
School Stingerettes, under the
direction of Mrs. A. C- Leather-
wood; and the Tarleton State
ROTC Band, directed by Ililmer
Wt>gner,
Remains Secret
Until Saturday
In a student body election held
last Tuesday five TSC coeds,
Elizabeth Brown, -Kafchy Keeney,
Saliy Moore, Marcia Morrison, and
Marie $wafford, were selected
from ten nominees as finalist in
the Homecoming Queen contest.
The' queen's identity will be kept
a secret until the parade Satur-
day. morning, :
The finalist receiving the most
votes will be Queen of the royal
court and the, four remaining
nominess will be Duchesses, They
will ride on the Student Council
float during the parade and will be
presented at the pre-game activi-
ties,
Marie Swafhnd, daughter of
Mr, and Mrs. L. C. Swafford of
Gi'andfalls, is a secondary educa-
tion major with many high school
honors to her . credit. At . Grand-
falls High School she was a re-
cipient of the DAR Award, editor
of the school paper, senior class,
secretary, n\ll-di tnet- basketball
player and an honor student.
Marcia Morrison, a sophomore
elementary education major from
Pa in pa, is. the daughter of Mr., and
Mrs. L. A. Morrison. While a.stu-
dent at Tarleton she has been a
member of the choir, DST, Schol-
arship Society, and is now a cheer-
leader.
Sally Moore, whose parents are
Mr, and Mrs. Ben A. Moore of
