Coeds Gratefully Migrate
To Modem Huneweli Hall
The beginning of this semester
marked a change in the living" hab-
its of ninety-four of our campus
co eds. They moved into the new
girls' dormitory, Huneweli Hall.
Construction on the latest living
facilities for the girls was begun
last year and completed about a
month ago, in time for the begin-
ning of this semester.
The reception of the new dormi-
tory by the girls was gratifying.
Many had been on the waiting list
tor some months, and by the time
for the move, spirits met the oc-
casion with enthusiasm.
The new dormitory lias a ca-
pacity for 114 girls. As of yet,
however, 94 girls call Huneweli
Hall their home. According to
Arendel, there is about an
even number of Freshman and
Sophomore girls in the new hall,
with a sprinkling of Juniors and
Seniors. In spite of the added fa-
cilities of the new dormitory, the
cost per .girl for room rent has
been raised only iplO per month.
One of the outstanding features
of the rooms in the new dormi-
tory is the extensive use of built-
in convenience. The chests and
study area are in fixed, space-
utilizing arrangements. The only
movable furniture in the new dorm
includes the bijds and chairs.
The colors in the dormitory were
chosen to be conducive to study
and restful living. The walls are
in a soft beige and grey, with ac-
This is how the'moving began.
You have to get all your stuff
in the dorm to begin with, don't
you, Pat?

Among the obvious advantages
of Huneweli Hall over the older
dorms are central air conditioning,
a divided study area, compact liv-
ing facilities, and separate living
area.
The r.ooms are arranged in
suites, each suite being divided
by a private bath. In addition, the
girls can' have the convenience of
private telephones in each room,
should they desire. The girls are
in communication with the main
lobby by intercoms in each room.
