Amir Sultan bought the
Ramada Inn last November, and
the motel has since undergone
extensive changes.
Perhaps the most extensive
changes have been in the hotel
restaurant. The Charleston House
has been struggling to overcome
a bad reputation, and as Sultan
says, "the food is excellent."
Meals range from $1.55 for
hamburgers and french fries to
steak for two at $13.50. An
average meal usually runs $3-4.
The menu also includes seafoods

and salads, with a special each
month.
Student discounts are
available,Sultar> said not only for
motel rooms, but for meals, too.
The Charleston Inn has banquet
facilities for 150-175 people.
Restaurant hours are 6 a.m.-2
p.m. and 5-10 p.m.
The Crown Inn is one of the
newest private clubs in
Stephenville. $3.50 buys a
temporary membership. Drinks
are in the $2-3 price range.
Regular club hours are 4 p.m.
-midnight Monday through
Saturday. The band, Saffire, is
featured on weekends.
Sunday, however, the new
concept of Sunday Fundays will
begin. About $7 will purchase a
temporary membership to the
club, a light meal and one drink.
Saffire will begin to play about 5
p.m.
Saffire, a local group, plays
contemporary rock music. Their
versatility ranges from Linda
Rondstadt to Fleetwood Mac;
from progressive country to
ballads.
At present the club and dance
floor is rather small. Sultan said
expansion is planned during
February, and the Crown Inn
will soon be twice the size it is
now.
Sultan said he wished to help
TSU students in any way he can.
"I need their support to get me
going." (
"It's a lively place," Sultan
said, "We work to the utmost to
please people; we're the people
pleaser.
"It's nice people taking care
