Welcome back sophomores, juniors,
seniors, grad and doctoral students, and
hello new Tarleton students! It is the be-
ginning of the 2007-2008 school year and
we all start with a fresh, clean slate. This
year our staff, at The J-TAC, is mixed with
new and returning staff members. We are
all very excited about this year's paper. We
want the student body, faculty, staff and
community members to know that we
are very open to new ideas, stories, and
opinions. Please do not hesitate to con-
tact us with suggestions. We are all here
to learn and grow.
Freshman and transfer students get
involved on campus. Learn what Tar-
leton State University has to offer you,
meet new people, make new friends
and study partners, and join an orga-
nization, or two. Discover why we love
TSU, become part of something bigger
than yourself, and follow in the tradi-
tions many before you have established
and upheld. Being involved will not only
help you emotionally, it will help you
stay focused on school. Remember to al-
ways do your best in class, support our
school, and bleed purple!

welcomes student body
It has been a long summer,
and I am sure that my anticipa-
tion and excitement about the
start of classes is just as high
as yours. It is going to be an
exciting year with many new
changes and some difficult ob-
stacles ahead, but I know that
nere at Tarleton State we can
navigate any road we choose,
T Between classes, football
games, organizational meet-
ings and work, the semester is
already full before it has even
'started, and before long De-
cember will be here. For some
pi you, this is your first semes-
ter on campus. To those new
students, good luck, have fun,
go to class and meet as many
people as possible. College is
'the time of your life; take ad-
vantage of being poor mon-
etarily but rich and abundant
ih friends.
■"' For my friends out there
who, like me, are entering the
last year of their college ca-
reers, it has been a great expe-
rience, It has been a lot of fun
and, before long, May will be
here and it will be time to tack-
;le a new chapter in our lives,
for those of you I have had
;the opportunity to meet, I am
!glad to call you all my friends,
'and for those that I have not, I
i
hope to meet you this year,
i Our first Student Gov-

registration form attached. Each
recognized campus organization
has two voting delegates to send
to the house meetings. For those
of you not involved in an organi-
zation, you are always welcome
to come to any house meeting
during the school year to voice
your concerns, or send us an e-
mail at sga@tarleton.edu.
