Will convince anyone of its permanency and equipment. We
have spared no expense D facilitate work. There is only one
thing lacking at the Hereford Dental Parlors
and that is a day current of Electricity. Our Laboratory is
thoroughly fitted for the manufacture of any kind of an appliance.
We will venture the assertion, without fea* of contradiction, that
there is more Dental work done here 'han at any other office in
West Texas and we propose to force cpUjiued recognition,
through merit.

The Michigan republican conven-
tion indorsed President •Roosevelt
and the congressional delegation
which opposed the President's Cu-
ban reciprocity policy. This looks
like an effort at harmony at the sac-
rifice of consistency,
Representative Mercer of Nebras-
ka fushed a bill through Congress
in record time during the last hours
qí the sesdxi. Th2 measure, which
appropriated $75,000 for a quarter-

The Bureau of Navigation reports
the registry of 1,657 vessels last
year as compared with 1,709 the
year before. The decrease in ton-
nage amounts to 16,535 tons. The
falling off is due to the fact that the
Steel Trust chargcs the American
ship builder considerably more for
yteel than it chargcs the British
fcbip'builder,.
The democratic party will be true
to its best traditions wherv leading a
fight for the rights of the people, as
against the trusts and monopolies
fostered by high tariffs,
A prosperity whieh means high
prices for food products, fuel and
clothing, without correspondingly
high prices for labor may satisfy
the capitalist but will not receive
the support of the laboringman.
The four large naval vessels pro-
vided for by the recent naval bill
will be named the Louisiana, Con-
necticut, Tennessee, and Washing-
ton and the two gunboats will be
named the Paducah and the Du-
buque, respectively.
THE FAIR AT QUANAH.
Will Be the Bost in Its History
Good Premiums.
The meeting of the Northwest
Texas Fair Association to be held at
Quanah Aug. 19-22 will be the best
in the history of the Association,
Arrangements are already under
way, and a number of new and inter-
esting features will be introduced
for the entertainment of the people.
A splenáid racing program has been
prepared, there bsing four races
daily with liberal purses. It is ex-
pected that the "Quanah Stake
Race," for which a purse of $400
will be hung up, will bring the cracks
from all over the country. It is a
running race, three-fourths of a mile.
There is also a free-for-all pace or
trot for a purse of $-350. All_t.he
purses are good. There will also be
a novelty race each day, and a bal-
loon ascension with a parachute des-
cent. Some of the popular features
of last year's meeting, the ladies'
and boys' riding contests and the-
saddle and harness horse ring:;, will
be retained. Liberal premiums will
be given on all kinds of live stock.
It is desired to make this meeting
in reality as well as in name a
Northwest Texas institution, and it
is-hoped that all neighboring coun-
ties will take an interest. It was
decided to hold the meeting earlier
this year on account of it being more
of an idle tim* than later on when
fall work has begun.
