Bald, blatent, and lowdown quackery is no longer so pro-
fitable and popular in San Antonio as it was two or three
years ago. More than this it is not even so popular with
our local newspapers that in the past have offered a wel-
come haven to any swindling vicious medical faker who was
willing to pay double advertising rates. And they should
read the handwriting on the wall. And no longer be a party
to this disgraceful swindling traffic in human life, but re-
fuse to take such misleading lieing advertisements when
they know that the dirty institute or individual is a fraud.
Ask them if they will stand behind the statements con-
tained in these advertisements, and they will answer you so
quick in the negative that his answer will be insulting. Ask
if they were to get sick if they would go to these wonderful
doctors whom they laud through their papers, and they will
answer in the same manner. I am sure there is hardly an
employe of either paper who would like to be seen in or
around one of these van-dyke skunks office. Yet they will
carry their disgraceful advertisements, lauding their ex-
traordinary ability to cure this or that disease, when in
reality their ability to cure a skunk is lacking.
Their medical education in nine out of ten cases was ob-
tained in some fourth class medical college, or some summer
or night school. They therefore haven't the medical train-
ing and ability to compete with trained and educated phy-
sicians. Therefore they resort to this dirty boomerang ad-
vertising in order to get business. The reasons for the trou-
bles of these scoundrels in San Antonio, was the Bexar
County Medical Society. They have inaugurated a war to26
