1 AN ACT 2 relating to the compensation of the members of the board of port 3 commissioners of the Port of Port Arthur Navigation District of 4 Jefferson County. 5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 6 SECTION 1. Section 11, Chapter 197, Acts of the 58th 7 Legislature, Regular Session, 1963, is amended to read as follows: 8 Sec. 11. Each commissioner shall receive for performing 9 duties as a commissioner [his sorvics] the sum of $200 [i-f- 10 Dllar6 ($50)n] per month, except the president who shall receive 11 $250 [C^ ov nty-fi vo ~D11as l (7E5)] per month, plus actual traveling 12 expenses. The board of commissioners shall fix the compensation of 13 the secretary, general manager, attorneys, engineers, and all other 14 employees, and said board shall fix and determine the term and time 15 of employment of all officers and employees of the district; 16 provided that all officers and employees of the district, except 17 the commissioners themselves, shall hold their offices subject to 18 the will of the Board of Port Commissioners. 19 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
