1 AN ACT 2 relating to the fees assessed in certain cases filed in the Ector 3 County courts at law. 4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 5 SECTION 1. Section 25.0702, Government Code, is amended by 6 adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: 7 (c) The fees assessed in a case in which a county court at 8 law has concurrent civil jurisdiction with the district court are 9 the same as the fees that would be assessed in the district court 10 for that case. 11 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only 12 to a cause of action filed on or after the effective date of this 13 Act. A cause of action filed before the effective date of this Act 14 is governed by the law in effect on the date the cause of action was 15 filed, and the former law is continued in effect for that purpose. 16 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
