IN CHEROKEE COUNTY; DEFINING
ITS BOUNDARIES.
H. B. No. 105.] CHAPTER 12.
An Act creating the Jacksonville Independent School District, in Cherokee
County, Texas; defining its boundaries, including the present Jacksonville
Independent School District; providing for a board of trustees in
said district, conferring upon said district and its boards of trustees all
the rights, powers, privileges and duties now conferred and imposed by
the General Laws of the State of Texas upon independent school districts
and the boards of trustees thereof; providing that the present
board of trustees continue in office until the expiration of their respective
terms; validating a bond issue of $45,000.00 heretofore voted
in said district; repealing all laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith;
and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That the Jacksonville Independent School District
is hereby created and established in Cherokee County, Texas, containing
within its limits the following described territory, to-wit:
Beginning on the W. B. line of the Jose Pineda E. 4 leagues
grant at the S. W. corner of 178 acres of land once owned by Mrs.
Ann Hardgraves and now known as the W. C. Frederick tract, this
being one of the S. E. corners of said School District'No. 46, as
originally defined; thence E. with the S. B. line of said Ann Hardgraves
tract crossing the track of the St. Louis Southwestern R. R.
and the track of the Texas and New Orleans R. R. 1592 v. to the
S. E. corner of said Hardgraves tract; thence N. with the E. B.
line of said Hardgraves 178-acre tract 790 v. to N. E. corner of same
at S. E. corner of a tract commonly known as the J. H. Lattimore
70 acres; thence S. 86 degrees W. with the S. B. line of said
Lattimore tract 874 v. to S. W. corner of same, and S. E. corner
of a tract commonly known as the T. A. Cocke 67 acres; thence
N. with W. B. line of said Lattimore tract 448 v. to N. W. corner
of same; thence N. 86 degrees E. with the N. B. line of said Lattimore
tract 874 v. to N. E. corner of same at S. E. corner of a
tract formerly known as the John Marshall 105 acres; thence N. with
E. B. line of said Marshall 105 acres 132 varas to the S. E. corner
of the Templeton thence E. with S. B. line of
said 190 acres and the S. B. line of the J. A. 30-acre tract 2226 v.
to N. E. corner of the J. W. Hoover 1091/2 acres as defined in the
partition of the Levine Waller lands; thence N. with the E. B. line
of said Templeton 30-acre tract 1067 v. to the N. E. corner of same;
thence W. with the N. B. line of said Templeton 30-acre tract 300
v. to N. W. corner of same at N. E. corner of the John Williams
100 acres; thence N. 726 v. with W. B. line of the Priestley Place
and E. B. lines of the R. L. Pearman and C. S. Nesbitt tract to
N. W. corner of Priestley Place on S'. B. line of H L. Martin 80acre
tract; thence E. with the S. B. line of the H. L. Martin tracts
1528 v. to S. E. corner of H. L. Martin 130 acres; thence N. with
E. B. line of said H. L. Martin 130-acre tract and E. B. line the S.
