Chapter 253 S.B. No. 1920 1 AN ACT 2 relating to the membership of the Advisory Board on Cosmetology. 3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 4 SECTION 1. Subsection (a), Section 1602.051, Occupations 5 Code, is amended to read as follows: 6 (a) The Advisory Board on Cosmetology consists of seven 7 [f-4-e] members appointed by the presiding officer of the 8 commission, with the commission's approval, as follows: 9 (1) one member who holds a license for a beauty shop 10 that is part of a chain of beauty shops; 11 (2) one member who holds a license for a beauty shop 12 that is not part of a chain of beauty shops; 13 (3) one member who holds a private beauty culture 14 school license; [an4] 15 (4) two members who each hold an operator license; 16 (5) one member who represents a licensed public 17 secondary or postsecondary beauty culture school or program; and 18 (6) one public member. 19 SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date 20 of this Act, the presiding officer of the Texas Commission of 21 Licensing and Regulation shall appoint the additional members to 22 the Advisory Board on Cosmetology as required by Section 1602.051, 23 Occupations Code, as amended by this Act. 24 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
