No. 66 1 and the ferocity of his tackling, Mr. Nobis went on to participate 2 in five Pro Bowls, and he was twice named an All-Pro; and 3 WHEREAS, Tommy Nobis has been accorded numerous honors, 4 including being named to the College Football Hall of Fame, the 5 Sports Illustrated 1869-1969 All-Century Team, the State of Texas 6 Hall of Fame, and the Texas Longhorn Hall of Honor; his number 60 7 jersey has been retired by both The University of Texas and the 8 Atlanta Falcons in tribute to his storied career; and 9 WHEREAS, Mr. Nobis played 11 seasons for the Falcons and 10 currently serves as a consultant to the team; long known as "Mr. 11 Falcon" because he was the first member of the team, he has now been 12 with the organization for more than 40 years; he is justly deserving 13 of recognition for his stellar football career and his many 14 accomplishments off the field; now, therefore, be it 15 RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas 16 hereby commend Tommy Nobis on his many notable achievements and 17 extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his future 18 endeavors; and, be it further
19 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for him 20 as an expression of esteem from the Texas Legislature.
