Tower has served in the
Senate since 1961 when he
won a special election and
became, at age 35, the
youngest member of the
Senate
In 1966 Tower was re-
elected by almost 200.000
votes and in 1972 he was
re-elected by more than
300.000 votes, carrying 177
of the state's 254 counties
including the 10 most
populous
Tower now ranks nineth
in seniority among Repub-
lican senators. As chair-
man of the Senate Repub-
lican Policy Committee, he
participates in decisions of
the Senate GOP leadership
and attends regular con-
gressional leadership
meetings with the Presi-
dent and White House staff.
The senator served on
the Committee on Banking,
Housing, and Urban
Affairs and the Armed
Services Committee and is
vice-chairman of the
Senate Select Committee
on Intelligence Operations.
He also is active on a dozen
sub-committees and is a
ranking member of the
sub-committee on Military
Construction Authorization
and on Financial Insti-
tutions.
Before his election to the
Senate, Tower was a
government professor at
Midwestern University in
Wichita Falls. He received
his bachelor's degree in
political science from
Southwestern University in
Georgetown in 1948 and his
master's from S. M. U.

FOR GROWTH
AND
PROGRESS
Your vote for Legal Sale Saturday, June 19 will help our area grow...give local people a freedom of
choice and help everyone reap a full share of the benefits of a fast-developing recreational and
vacation area.
Let's Stop Bootlegging And Sales To Minors
Let's Keep Local Money At Home And Bring
In New Revenue And Build New Businesses.
Legal Sales Make $en$e
Legal Sales in our precinct mean new businesses...more jobs...more paychecks...more property on
the local tax rolls...additional sales tax revenue to Cherokee County, reducing the need for other and
higher current taxes. Legal Sales mean a boost in the economy for everyone because business surveys
show people buy their other needs where they buy their other needs where they buy their beverages.
Prohibition-which does not prohibit-only increases the needless highway dangers of driving to other
areas (and back), makes criminals out of law abiding citizens. Prohibition forces trade dollars and tax
revenue to slip away to other areas.
Help Precinct 2 Move Forward
Be sure you vote~and your friends vote-Saturday, June 19 for the Legal Sale of all alcoholic
beverages, for off premise consumption. End unworkable hypocrisy and put our precinct on the right
path to growth and progress.
Paid for by Doyle A. Lindsey, campaign manager for the Citizens for Legal Sales and Progress, Justice
of the Peace No. 2, Cherokee County, Texas.
Johnny A. Bean, member, Andrew W. Geishaker Sr., member, 0. A. Moake, member and Clyde Stewart,
member.
