Registration blanks for
the United Methodist
Palestine-Nacogdoches
Camp set July 28-30 are
available from the church
office, youth director or
pastor.
Methodist youth who will
be in the fifth grade
through senior high on
September 1 are eligible to
particiDate. The church
will pay one-half of the $30
per camper cost.
"This is a great
opportunity for our Youth
to learn more of Christ and
His Church, meet many
new friends and renew
friendships, and have good
Christian fun and fellow-
ship," said the Rev.
Mouzon Fletcher, First
United Methodist pastor.
"We hope to have a good
representation from our
church."
Deadline for registration
is July 7. Registrations
postmarked after this date
will be accepted only as
space and adult personnel
are available, with an
additional charge of $5 for
late registration.
Checks should be made
payable to "District
Camp." Rev. Fletcher is
registrar-treasurer for all
the camps.
More adult counselors
are needed in all the
camps, the pastor added.
Student counselors must be
at Jeast a sophomore in
college. Interested young
people should contact Rev.
Fletcher for placement.

Ordained
James Ernest (Ernie)
Turney Jr. was ordained a
Deacon in the Ministry of
The United Methodist
Church during special ser-
vices at the church's
annual conference May 26
in Houston.
Bishop Paul V. Galloway
presided for the Service of
Worship and Ordination of
Deacons and Elders during
the Texas Annua! Confer-
ence. He was assisted in
the ordination service by
the Conference Preacher,
Bishop William R. Cannon
and C< i Terence Secretary,
Dr. Allí M. Mayes.
At the close of the con-
ference, Turney was
appointed to the Church
Hill Circuit in the Longview
District. He expects to take
over responsibilities as
pastor immediately. The
minister is completing
studies at Chandler School
of Theology, Emory Uni-
versity in Decatur, Ga.
"We are truly proud of
Ernie and his lovely wife,
and we wish them well as
they assume their respon-
sibilities in the active
Ministry of the Church,"
the Rev. Mouzon Fletcher,
First United Methodist
Church pastor, said.
Youth Plan
Child Care
Operation
Youth of the First United
Methodist Church will
sponsor a Mother's Day
Out program beginning
Wednesday morning.
The program will be con-
ducted from 8:30 to 12:30
a.m. Mothers who need
someone to keep their
children while they shop,
visit or just rest at home
will be provided child care
services.
Cost of the service is $3
for the first child and $1 for
each additional child. The
program includes all child-
ren up to eight years of age.
Planned activities and
good supervision is
planned, according to the
church's pastor.
Hendricks
Plan Reunion
The annual Hendrick
Reunion will be held June
13 at the Camp Ground
Baptist Church. Activities
will begin at 3 p.m.
All friends and relatives
of the congregation are
invited to attend and bring
a picnic supper.
The Rev. Kermit Welch
will be guest minister for
the night service.
