Professor A.L. Turner pictured
during his teaching career in
Carthage.
A. L. Turner was a very religious man. He emphasized reli-
gion to his students in class, in assemblies, and outside school.
He expected all of his students to attend church regularly. And
since he was always present at Sunday service, he could check on
those studenttwho were and weren't at church. He would encourage
his students with quotes to live by r many of which were from the
Bible. One of his more favorite Biblical quotes was " Remember
now thy creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days
come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have
no pleasure in them." (Ecclesiastes 12:1) Turn to pade 30.
