Preddie Lloyd was honored with
a surprise birthday on her 90th
birthday at the home of her sister
and brother-in-law, Ruby and F. E.
Crone, River Plantation at Conroe.
U pon her awakening "Happy birth-
day1' was sung to her by Ruby and F.
B. and they presented her with a
dozen long stemmed red roses.
The guests included her brothers,
Emmett Lloyd, Lester Lloyd and
his wife, Ottice, and their two sons,
Wayne and Marvin; Carl Lloyd and
his wife, Katie, all from Rusk; Ever-
ett Lloyd's widow, Lucille of Galena
Park; their two daughters, Letha
Nell Tibbitts of Houston and Linda
Sue Roberts of Hunts ville.
Many useful gifts were presented
to the honoree.
The group then went to Wyatt's
Cafeteria for lunch and then re-
turned back to the Crones for the
Baskin-Robbina ice cream birthday
cake, which was decorated with the
message "Happy Birthday, Preddie."
At the conclusion of the party
everyone gathered around the pi-
ano and sang the happy birthday
song, followed by several more fa-
miliar one.
A delightful party wa8 reported
by those who attended.
King Louis XVI popularized the
cultivation of potatoes in France by
wearing potato flowers in his but-
tonhole.
