so assessed and all funds so collected by him as such tax assessor or
collector but the board of trustees of said district shall have authority
to appoint the county tax assessor and tax collector of Wilson
County to assess and collect the taxes of said district without bond,
and they shall receive as compensation for such services not exceeding
one and one-half per cent of the taxes so assessed and collected,
respectively. Such taxes, when collected, shall be turned over to the
treasurer or depository of said district.
SEC. 7 The secretary of the board of trustees of said district
shall receive for his services such compensation as may be prescribed
by said board, not to exceed $5.00 per month, to be paid cut of the
maintenance fund derived from local taxation.
SEC. 8. A record of the minutes of the proceedings of the board
shall be kept and recorded in a well bound book, in proper form,
which shall be open to the inspection of the public.
SEC. 9. The president and secretary, when acting in their official
capacity, as herein provided, are hereby authorized to administer
oaths or affirmations, anld shall use lhe seal of the board in attestation
thereof
SEC. 10 The board shall provide a suitable seal to be used in the
authentication of all bonds, warrants, contracts, or other deouments
executed by authority of the said board.
SEC 11 The board of trustees of the Floresville Independent
School District is hereby authorized to issue l){,nd('1 and borrow
money onl the credit of said district for the pu) oses set forth and
in the manner prescribed by the General Laws of the State pertaininl
to independent school districts; aJnd they hall expend suc
moneys, when collected, or an
part of same. in llie manner and for
the purposes that are set forth in the' General Laws of the 'tate governinl
independent school districts; providing that the treasurer of
said district shall not receive comnpeisation for the collection or d'Sbursement
of the proceeds of the sale of bonds issued by said district
SEC. 12. The board of trustees of the Floresville Independent
School District shall have power to levv and collect a maintenance
tax in the manner prescribed and for the purposes set forth in the
General Laws' of the State of Texas, and shall expend the same in
the manner and for the purposes set forth in the General Laws of
the State of Texas pertaining to independent school districts
SEC. 13. All taxes assessed and levied under this Act shall be
due on or before the first, day of February of each year next after
the date of such assessment and levv.
SEC 14. The levying and assessing of the taxes as herein provided
for and in the manner herein provided, shall create a lien
upon all taxable property of such district. In ease it shall at any
time become necessary to enforce said lien by judicial proceedings
the trustees of said Floresville Indenendent School District shall
employ a competent attern ev who resides in Wilson County\, Texas,
to represent. the district in the enforcement of its liens for such taxes
and said attorney shall receive therefor such eomnensation as the
trustees of the school board of the Floresville Independent School
District may agree to pay. Such suit or suits shall be instituted or
