'SPECIAL ROAD LAW FOR NACOGDOCHES COUNTY.
1'. B. No. 663.] CHAPTER 92.
An Act to repeal all special laws relating to public roads of Nacogdoches
County, as well as all general laws in conflict with this Act, and to
create by this Act a more efficient road system for Nacogdoches County,
Texas; to provide tor the appointment of hands and laying out of road
precincts, specifying those subject to road duty and the number of
davs they shall work upon the public roads each year; to provide for
relieving citizens of road duty by payment to the county treasurer of
$5 00 for each road year, to encourage donation to the public roads by
citizens of said county, and providing for donations to be duplicated by
the county treasurer out of the road and bridge fund of said county,
providing for appointment of road over-seers; making the county commissioneis
of said county supervisors of the roads in their commissioners'
precinct; prescribing their duties; prescribing the mode of
warning those subject to road duty under the terms of this Act, and
making it a misdemeanor to violate the provisions of this Act, and
fixing a penalty therefor; and repealing all General and Special Laws
in conflict herewith

SEc'TI N 1. That all special read laws relating to the public
roa(Ids of Nacoogdoches County heretofore enacted be, and the same
lare, hereby in all things repealed, and that all CGeneral Laws relating
to public roads in conflict herewith be repealed as the same
elate to the public 'roads of Nacogdoches County: and extending
all General Laws other than those in conflict herewith, and to enact
ii place of the laws so repealed the following laws as applicable

SE(,. 2. The coiumois iones' (court of Naco'dc)o' hes County shall
at its fil'st regular term after the taking effect of this enactment
(divide tlhe roads of said county into specific road precincts, designating
them i)v nIml)er and location, and shall cause the overseers
thlereof hereinafter provided for, or the county commissioner of
the pieminet in which said road, are located to place markers specifying
tlie number of road precincts at the termination of each road
pi eein.t as may le established by said commissioners' court, and
tlte county clerk shall carefully record in the minutes of said
county the numnAbes and boundaries and locations of the several
road( p)reinets of said county, and shall specify in said minutes
the class of each load which lies in such precinct.
SEC. :. The commissioners' court of Nacogdoehes County shall
at said te'im and thereafter at its regular Felruary term in each
year apportion the various hands subject to road duty to the varlour
road precinct of said county, and shall at said term appoint
one competent road overseer for each precinct, which overseer may
lie appointed from aniong the hands subject to road duty in said
road precinct; or if said court sees fit for the more efficient working
of the public 'roads of said county it may appoint an overseer for
said precinct residing at any place within the commissioners' pre'cinct
in which said road precincts are located, it being the intent
