ADDING TERRITORY TO ANAHUAC INDEPENDENT
SCHOOL DISTRICT.
S. B. No. 35.] CHAPTER 8.
An Act amending Section 1, Chapter 3, of the Acts of the Thirty-fifth
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, entitled "An Act creating the Anahuac
Independent School District in Chambers County, Texas," by re-defining
and adding to the Anahuac Independent School District certain
territory now embraced in Common School District No 20, of Chambers
County, Texas, and adding thereto Section 1 A, divesting the said Common
School District No. 20 of the control of the public free schools
within the limits of the territory herein added to said Anahuac Independent
School District, and investing the said Anahuac Independent
School District with full control of the public free schools within the
limits of said independent district as herein defined; and declaring an
emergency
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Teras:
SECTION 1. That Section 1, Chapter 3, Acts of the Thirty-fifth
Legislature, Third Called Session, be amended to read as follows:
Section 1. That the Anahuac Independent School District is
hereby re-defined and re-established in Chambers County, Texas,
including within its limits that certain territory hereinafter described
by metes and bounds; and said metes and bounds of said district
as herein re-defined and re-established shall hereafter read as
follows:
Beginnling at the N W corner of the John Sherman survey;
Thence northwesterly with the meanders of the east shore line of
Turtle Bay to the mouth of Turtle Bayou; Thence up said Turtle
Bayou to the mouth of Whites Bayou; Thence up said Whites
Bayou with its meanders to the point where said Bayou intersects
tile north ]ine of the E H. R. Wallis Survey and the south line of
the James T. White League; thence east with the south line of the
James T. White League to its southeast corner; thence east to the
northeast corner of the James MeGahey League; thence east across
Section 42 to the N W corner of Section 41, H. thence east
with the north line of Sections 41, and 40 to the N E corner of said
Section 40; thence S with the east lines of Sections 40, 45, 46, 49.
60, 61, 72, 73, 81 and 82 to the S E corner of Section 82; thence
west with the south line of said Section 82, and the north line of
the Joseph Whitcomb Leaoue to the northwest corner of said
Joseph Whitcomb League; thence south with the west line of said
Joseph Wlhitcom'b League to the east corner of the R. E. Booth
League; thence northwesterly with the N hE line of said R. E. Booth
League to its northeast corner; thence southwesterly with% the N.
W line of said R. E. Booth League to the most eastern corner of
the N. D. Labadie Survey 104; thence northwesterly with the N
E line of said Labadie Survey to its most northern corner; thence
southwesterly to the most eastern corner of the J. Owens Survey;
thence west to its iiorthwe-t corner; thence north to the northeast
corner of the H. Leper Survey: thence west on the north boundary
line of the H. Leper Survey to its N W corner: thence south down
