No. 2636 1 AN ACT 2 relating to notifying an applicant of the omission of certain 3 information from a federal postcard application to vote in an 4 election. 5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 6 SECTION 1i. Section 101.004, Election Code, is amended by 7 amending Subsection (j) and adding Subsection (k) to read as 8 follows: 9 (j) If the early voting clerk determines that an application 10 that is submitted before the time prescribed by Subsection (e)(1) 11 does not contain the information that is required for registration 12 under Title 2, the clerk shall notify the applicant of that fact. 13 If the applicant has provided a telephone number or an address for 14 receiving mail over the Internet, the clerk shall notify the 15 applicant by that medium. 16 (k) If the applicant submits the missing information before 17 the time prescribed by Subsection (e)(1), the applicant is entitled 18 to receive a full ballot to be voted by mail under this chapter. If 19 the applicant submits the missing information after the time 20 prescribed by Subsection (e)(1), the applicant is entitled to 21 receive a full ballot to be voted by mail for the next election that 22 occurs: 23 (1) in the same calendar year; and 24 (2) at least 30 days after the date the information is
