A Swindler Convicted.
John I.utton was sentenced to four years In
tho penitentiary this morning for swindling.
I.utton is tbo man who represented himself as
manager of n Now York land company and
who under that pretense succeeded In
swindling Messrs. linker nnd Jiorrnugh nnil
the proprietors ot the Slock Exchange out of
$200. Ho niso victimized Mr. Wollc of the
Hord hotel to a limited extent.

back to tho headquarters. During tho review
a lattfu number of people were present on the
plaza and tho balconies nnd windows of the
San Antonio club Mcnger hotel Sunset ticket
ofllco and other places were thronged with In-
terested spectators.

was hold In tho Casino In memory of tho late
Grand Commander J. J. Goode J. .A. Luw-
lenco Judgo v. M. Winkler Ucorgo W. Laid

had died since tho last conclave and a largo
audience was present. The stage was draped
In mounting. In the centre was a black tri-
