tween Sim Shelton and II. K. Randnlnh. in
which Shelton was instantly killed by a knife

San Saha April 30 J. D. Coggins of
Llano county while returning from the lown
of Llano to his home was fired upon by
some unknown parties from the roadside and
mortally wounded the shot taking effect in
his bowels. His little son who was in the
buggy with him at the time received a slight
wound in the face and head by a stray
snoi. noggins was one 01 ;tne principals in a
fight which occurred in Llano about a year
ago In winch were killed two men. He
is supposed to have been waylaid on ac-

Labor Troubles.
Pittsburg April 30. The tanners' stiike
in Allegheny will probably not last much long-
er as signs of weakening are apparent on
all sides. A number ol the strikers have re
turned lo work to-day and it is thought that
others will soon follow.
To-morrow is the day set for several striken.
among them the coal miners plasterers and
cigar-makers. The miners claim that the
strike will be general and that about 6000

The Ued Cross Society at Work
Nkw Orlkans April 30. The Times
Democrat's Wesson special says: William
Blackburn age 55 died of injuries received

ker who lost her husband and ton. and had
an arm amputated has been moved to Sum-
mit. Another amputation will be performed

will continue to supply the Immediate neces-
sities of those in the corporate limits until the

Red Cross society will take charge of the re-

it is true; his lungs were never strong as was
shown in his battle with me nt Mississippi

van was never a better man than I at his
