Officer Abbey arrested a man yesterday
when a friend named G. M. Herman inter-
fered and was himself arrested and fined $10.

the Fourth ward there is some talk of their
running one of their own people in the
triangular fight between Niggll Syme and
Groos.
The actress Minnie Maddern makes
more money by not playing in Galveston than
she did here. She and the Silver King were
billed the same night and she accepted $300
to cancel her engagement.
Antonio Rivas declined to serve as judge
of election In the Second ward. lie very
sensibly thinks he can advance the best Inter-
ests of his ward by working as a friend to the
city's interests In supporting Colonel Belknap
for Alderman.
The great Seeman gives his last evening
performance to-night at Turner hall and to-
morrow a grand matinee at 2 p. m. sharp.

District court on an appeal case for carrying a
pistol. He 'was again found guilty and
fined $25.
