AMENDING MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION LAW.
H. B. No. 55.] CHAPTER 21.
An Act to amend Article 6675a-1, Chapter 1, Title 116, Acts of the Fortyfirst
Legislature Second Called Session, Revised Civil Statutes, 1925,
by adding Sub-division "o" defining "farm trailer"; by adding subsection
"p" defining the phrase, "operated or moved temporarily upon
the highways"; and Article 6675a-2, Chapter 1, Title 116, by including
"farm trailer" with those other vehicles exempted from license; and
creating an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That Article 6675a-1 of the Revised Civil Statutes
of Texas for 1925, be amended so that the same shall hereafter
read as follows:
"Art. 6675-a-1. Definitions of terms. The following words
and terms, as used herein, have the meaning respectively ascribed
to them in this Section, as follows:
(a) "Vehicle" means every device in, or by which any person
or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a public
highway, except devices moved only by human power or used
exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks.
(b) "Motor Vehicle" means every vehicle, as herein defined,
that is self-propelled.
(c) "Motor Cycle" means every motor vehicle designed to
propel itself on not more than three wheels in contact with the
ground.
(d) "Truck-tractor" means every motor vehicle designed or
used primarly for drawing other vehicles, and not so constructed
as to carry a load other than a part of the weight of the
vehicle and load so drawn.
(e) "Parm-tractor" means every motor vehicle designed and
used primarily as a farm implement for drawing other implements
of husbandry.
(f) "Road-tractor" means every motor vehicle designed or
used for drawing other vehicles or loads, and not so constructed
as to carry a load independently or any part of the weight of
the drawn load or (of) vehicle.
(g) "Trailer" means every vehicle designed or used to carry
its load wholly on its own structure and to be drawn by a motor
vehicle.
(h) "Semi-trailer" means every vehicle of the trailer type so
designed or used in conjunction with a motor vehicle that some
part of its own weight and that of its load rests upon or is
carried by another vehicle.
(i) "Commercial Motor Vehicle" means any motor vehicle
other than a motor cycle designed or used for the transportation
of property including every vehicle used for delivery purposes.
(j) "Passenger Car" means any motor vehicle other than a
motor cycle or a bus, as defined in this Act (Arts. 6675a-1 to
