At the appointed hour last
Monday afternoon, the members
of the Business Men's League as
well as other people interested,
met in the court house to discus*
the ways and means for having
a County Fair here. W, M. 8tone
presided and J. A. Gray was
secretary. The attendance was
large and the tfrst few remarks
showed that the people here ar.
determined to have the fuir and
that it shall be one well worth
attending and worthy of the
county. Tliera wa.u scarcely ai,y
discussion as to whether we shall
have the Fair, for thai was evi

the place and the things necees-
jsary to be done to make the Fair

It was decided that the tiuu

duty of all eirzens to get behind
! the movement and puah to make
it the greatest success of any

following committies were ap-
pointed:

Springtime is Seeding Time
and seeding time reminds us that "Whatsoever a
man soweth, that shall he also reap," and if a man
soweth extravagance, he shall reap dependence and
embarrassment. But the man who sows economy
will reap happiness and independence. The man
who saves a part of his income and places it in a
bank where it will be safe from fire and iheives,
will have substantial oom'ort in time of distress and
a competency im old age

The next meeting of the League -
and all those interested in the*
fair, are called to meet in the
court house on the 16th of thi '
month, when the various com-
mittees will report what they
have done and make further
suggestions as to what more can*
be done to aid in pulling off the
biggest event in the history of
the county. Now, we all know
what is wanted and what is ex-
pected, and that is, every patri-
otic citisen should put his Influ-
ence behind the movement and'
eave no stone unturned to make
the event one that will be a cred-
it to the county and her cititen-
ship. There is no reason in tha-
world why we shall not have one
of the best county fairs in th'o
state, for we have the agricultu-
ral products, the fine live stuck
consisting of horses, mules, hoga
and cattle. Then there are the
fine specimens of poultry scatter*
ed in great abundaace fiom one
end of the county to the other. A
display of the products of the
county such as we can got to-
gether here by that time, will be
a credit and honor to any coun-
ty in the state and will be one of
the biggest advertisements this
county and section can possibly
have. Let o very body talk for
the fair and work for it. We do
not have to boost things in this
county; all we have to do is to
state the facts and let people
know the «imple truth and the<
outside world will do the boostv
ing wlun they see and know the
good things we ha>e here in
grand old Burleson,
