Seeking the Kingdom
by Roy L. Lyon
WOMAN WRESTLER HAS
HIGH STANDARDS
Some 0,600 people assembled in
a Dallas sporting arena the other
night to watch two women wrestle.
The women's world championship
wrestling title wus at stake, and
many people came from far and
near to see what would happen
when two females fought for fame,
fortune and fun.
One of the contestants wus Mil-
ared Burke from Kansas City. To
see her and her opponent in action,
>ou would think that Miss Burke
was mean, tough und uncouth. Bui
n close observation of her wrestl-
ing showed that she waB clean and
fair in her conduct, even though
her opponent broke nearly every
rule in the book. For 13 years Miss
Burke has held the championship
title, without having ever lost a
single match.
When an acquaintance of niin<
interviewed her about her priva •
life he asked about her person:.!
habits. He was somewhat sur-
prised to learn that she does not
smoke, drink, attend night cluhs
or private drinking parties.
When asked why she set surh
high standards for her owt. con-
duct she replied that she felt that
her personal influence could do
much to win the reupect of the
putilic for her profession.
There's a lesson here for pro-
fessing Christians, who are not
always as careful as Miss Burks
to exemplify in their own lives
liiirh standards of conduct, which
«ill not reflect upon Christianity.
Each of us has a certain amount
of influence among those with
whom we come in daily contact
If we are to be effective i- winn-
ing others and upholding the star.-
inrds of Christianity, we must
consider well the effect of our per-
nnal influence.

FORESTS CAÍí BE IMMORTAL
When a mine ia worked conlin

the foreat ia a renewable resource
which, when properly cared for,
poea on forever and ever.
You'll find that most heels have
no souls.
We've attended many showers
for brides, but no one yet has
ever brought My atty.
He called her his moth because
she was always chewing the rag.
There is n new book just out
entitled "Man, The Ruler of His
Home". Chances are I'll never read
that one because I never read
fiction.
I always admire the wisdom of
those who come to me for advice.
Card of Thanks
We wish to expresa or deep and
abiding appreciation to our friends
for the many acta of kindnesi
shov.n us, during the illness nua
at the death of our beloved wife
and mother, Mrs. Rush Whuley
Sr.
Especially do we want to thank
those who were so close to us
during our sorrow and to those
who sent floral offerings and re-
membrances through visits and
kind words. These expressions of
sympathy were a great consola-'
tion to all of us.
