She also studied at Colorado State University and Denver University. She was active in church, local choral music organizations and other civic groups. Her gravestone gives "1986 - NO DATE;" but her autobiography gives "about 1900" as her birth year. She is buried in the Powder Mill Cemetery, Marshall.
