in that Issue. We have loot track of
the Masssaobusetts Journal. Sir Welch,
If you catch 'em let me know.
We have no time to goaslp. The
society world moves on and no idle
goasliper can keep a T&borfcui pace
wiith the movements.
There is a stern kick in society cir-
cles, because this editor, says that Ta-
bor leads and others follow, but this
truth unquestionably true.
There are still some Temples, Tab-
ernacles and Tents in this Jurisdiction
that have never written a line to this
paper. Those presiding officers of these
'bodies ara too dull to cut a peeled
ban amia and ought to be ousted from
office. See? Kick now.
These columns contained a warning
last year, to this end: Be careful
Who you take into the ranks of Ta-
bor at least that you might get in a
-cage birdie and there was a lot of
kicking—aome from hdgh-toners, and
that timely warning has come to pass
laigaln. See? Now don't you kick
that are not guilty.
Hoá. W. H. Nobles, Editor of City
Times, called at our sanctum on the
18th on business of Importance. Mr.
Nobles Is one of the most able, falr-
iminded Journalists that the race hath
in Texas and I think that he hardly has
an equal In the United States. He is
cool and level headed. He thinks well
before he writes; he is not one of these
low, slang, mud-sllnglng editors, but
his ipaper Is clean and up to date; he
delights to honor Christianity and its
chief Readers.
Sabbath desecration in Galveston is
a disgrace to decent olvlllsatioo, much
less Christianity. Oh, my God, is there
no remedy in heaven for these condi-
tions? We Have and are still praying
these conditions grow worse.

Editor Taborian Banner.
Since the sitting of sur last grand ses-
sion I have been very b\uj looking after
my department of the order I mean its
finances.
There is in the rank of our order in
Texas the most loyal and loving set of
Knights and Daughters that can be found
world. 0* r members
■ami ...
asa wfiols seem to _
obligations not uncomplainingly, for thoy
will complain, for complaint seems to be
a part of us. And when the time comes
they are "Charley to the spot,
I have succeeded in collecting more
than 9100 for expenses for our four
grand officers to Little Rock. There aro
several tomples and- tabernacles that have
not paid their five cents assesment yet,
but they will pay it, The order was that
each, member in the jurisdiction of tem-
ples and tabernacles pay five cents for the
expenses of the four grand officers. Now,
let every temple and tabernacle that h s
not paid the assesment pay it at once.
Sometimes in driving a waon one of the
horses is a little slower than the other one
(intentional of course) and that makes
the load heavy on the willing horse. The
unwilling horse must be touched up by
the driver, so that the driver is about as
tired as the horse. Now, if we as men
and women will pull altogether and at the
same time the load will be mnch easier
on all of us. _
Those who have sulked and said you
would not pay it, pay up and get into the
band wagon, for only the Day, Johnson,
Williams and Beets delegates can ride
next July. And it may be if you do not
pay before then the wagon will break
down with you. Obey the five cents order
and pay up.
The C. G. M. reported at the last grand
session that it was the unanimous vote
of all the local bodies of Texas that we
purchase a home and build upon it. He
recommended it in his message aad it was
adopted that all Sir Knights and Daugh-
tera be assessed $1.00 to & paid on or
before January 1, 1907. Said $1.00 to be
used for building purposes. 1 chll your
attention to that matter so you can begin
now to make preparation for it.
So few of onr temples and taberna-
cles have paid any attention to the law
at 8an Antonio concerning the
home. Eaeh member is expected to pay
five cents per quarter or 20 cents a year
for the home. Until that law is annulled
I shall insist upon eaeh of you paying
the five cents per quarter or 80 cents

a word concerning the triennial
The session waa composed of
representative men and women from all
parts of the United States. The sixteen
C. O. M.'s and sixteen O. G. P.'s were
representative men and women in the tru-
est sense. Whenever they could get the
floor they had something to say, aad if
they did not have anything to say it did
not take pur I. C. G. M., S. A. Jordan,
with' his keen sense of executive ability,
long to say to such one "sit down." The

business will do well for others to emu-

G. M. was talking (not ours of course)
the I. C. G. M. lost his head, so to speak,
and at the twinkling of an eye he gath-
ered himself together and said "sit
down" and all was peace and quietness.
It is needless for me to tell you that
Sir oJrdan was re-elected by acclamation

East Texas. He had just hailed
Temple, Texas, where he set to
temple with thirty-two 'brave, gallant
Knights, and at the time of his writing
this, Aujjurt 22, he was setting a temple
at Groveton, Texas. He has associated
with him now Sir F. C. Miller. He says
that they hope to set to work fifty tem-
ples and seventy tabernacles this temple
a ndtabernacle year. He finds it much
easier to work up the ladies than the men
in some localities, but Sir Miller is a
never tiring Taborian worker. To tell
him that he can't set up a Taborian or-
der in a community don't daunt him in
the least. He is succeeding on the ground
where other orders have failed for years.
If we bad five deputies like Sir S. H.
Miller, we'd* soon capture Texas for Ta-
