1. William Columbus 'W. C.'2 Dotson (John1) was born January 19, 1858 in Greene County,
Missouri, and died December 12, 1946 in Wharton, Texas "in" a hospital. He married
Elizabeth Jane Hartley August 07, 1884 in Cedar County, daughter of James Hartley and
Margretta DeLozier. She was born January 17, 1867 in the Hartley School District, Masters,
Cedar County, Missouri, and died December 29, 1960 in McKinney, Texas.
Notes for William Columbus 'W. C.' Dotson:
Military service: U.S. Army - in Captain Wm. Fletcher's Co. "E", of the 20th Reg. Infantry
from October 24, 1882 to February 17, 1883. He received a medical discharge and he tried
for years to get a pension.
Occupation: Tum, as he was called was a retired farmer. His last several years were spent
at the home of his son, Walter Dotson, in Wharton, Texas.
