Note:

Ima Hogg (1882-1975), the daughter of first native Texan Governor, James Stephen Hogg, and Sallie Stinson, became a renowned philanthropist. She was a founder and longtime president of the Houston Symphony Society. In the 1930's, she established the Houston Child Guidance Center and Hogg Foundation for Mental Health. A patron of the arts, Miss Hogg donated many important works of art to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. In 1957, she donated the Hogg's River Oaks estate, Bayou Bend, to the MFAH to serve as its American decorative arts house museum.
